Classic Encounters: 2nd week of Champions League:

Chelsea VS Bayern

The 2nd week of the Champions League is also going to be a nail-biting one as the fixture will see Lampard’s Young Chelsea side play against resurgent Bayern Munich. Lampard has done a great job in keeping Chelsea near top-four finish in the domestic league with limited resources.

Bayern, on the other hand, has had a tough start to this season after losing two key players last summer in Ribery and Robben. Lewandowski, on the other hand, has been a source of great inspiration while Coutinho has also done a decent job since joining them.

Napoli vs Barcelona

On the same day, Napoli faces Messi’s Barcelona both teams have struggled for form. For Barcelona, it is all about winning all the competition in hand. Seiten’s appointment as Barcelona head coach came as a surprise and criticism. While Napoli also changed their head coach by sacking Ancelotti and hiring Gattuso.

Lyon vs Juventus:

Next day Lyon will face Italian champions, Juventus, who boost Ronaldo in their ranks along with other great talents in Dybala and Pjanic. while Lyon’s striker Dembele has seen his stock risen this season for scoring goals and overall play and along with talented Aoura, Lyon will not make it easy for Juventus.

Real Madrid vs Man City:

Last but not least Real Madrid will take on Manchester City. Zidane vs Guardiola, both of them have seen success as a player and as a manager. Zidane recently has done impossible by winning three consecutive champions league title with Ronaldo in his team.

Ever since Ronaldo has left, Real Madrid has never looked the same but Zidane is gradually building the team that will be able to win trophies again. This year’s champions league may have come too early for his new looked side but Zidane has masterminded victories before so it is impossible to rule them out.

One the other hand Guardiola has yet to win champions league with his English side and they will want to win this year. And the timing is perfect for them as Laporte is back in the side, their most important defender, and Aguero is scoring goals for fun at the moment

If Guardiola can manage to get the consistency than they will have a genuine side of winning the trophy this year.
